Child Rights Protection & Safeguarding

Child Rights Protection

Program Overview

TOSOVC is dedicated to protecting children from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence while strengthening family and community-based protection systems across Tanzania Mainland. Our Child Rights Protection Program aligns with national child protection frameworks and international conventions to deliver structured, accountable, and community-driven safeguarding interventions.

Persistent Challenges

Across Tanzania, thousands of children remain exposed to systemic risks that undermine their physical safety and mental health. We address these critical issues:

  • Child abuse and neglect within households
  • Gender-based violence affecting girls and adolescents
  • Early marriages and teenage pregnancies
  • Weak community-level reporting mechanisms
  • Limited awareness of child protection laws and rights
  • Insufficient psychosocial support services for survivors
