Gender-Based Violence Prevention

Program Overview

TOSOVC is dedicated to advancing safe communities by preventing gender-based violence and strengthening survivor-centered response systems across Tanzania Mainland. Our program addresses the physical, emotional, sexual, and economic violence faced by women, girls, and vulnerable populations by tackling harmful gender norms and weak protection systems.

Strategic Objective

To reduce the prevalence of gender-based violence through prevention programming, survivor-centered referral systems, and community norm transformation across Tanzania Mainland.

Target Population

Our program specifically targets those most vulnerable to violence and those who hold the power to change social structures:

  • Survivors: Individuals requiring psychosocial, medical, or legal referral.
  • Women & Girls: Those at risk of early marriage or sexual exploitation.
  • Youth: Young people engaged in peer violence prevention and norm transformation.
  • Community Leaders: Local and religious leaders instrumental in changing harmful traditions.
